StarNews Mobile and the Global Black Economic Forum (GBEF) are joining forces to launch a business competition empowering promising Nigerian Small and Medium Enterprises (SMEs).

Starnews Business Competition

This competition is your chance to secure valuable investment and partnership opportunities from the United States. Held for 10 weeks, from April 8th to June 14th, the competition is co-sponsored by MTN and the United Nations International Development Agency (USAID).

The platform provides a launchpad for emerging entrepreneurs to showcase their ventures and gain national recognition.

About StarNews Mobile

Founded in 2017, StarNews Mobile is a subscription-based platform boasting over 4 million subscribers and a thriving community of more than 120 creators. They empower African content creators to monetize their work.

Eligibility

  • Be at least 50% Nigerian-owned and operated

  • Registered business in Nigeria with a valid CAC

  • Business activities primarily taking place in Africa

  • Have a web/social media presence with a minimum of 1,000 followers

  • Be in formal business for at least 2 years with consecutive turnover for the same period

  • Generate positive impacts for Africa by contributing directly to the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs)

Participants can also win cash prizes worth up to $4,000 from StarNews.
